Closing down sales have already begun in several stores
Insolvent electrical chain Comet is closing a further 125 stores, its administrators have said.
Following the closures, which should begin next month, there will be 70 stores left open from an original 236.
Reports suggest more than 3,000 jobs could be affected by the latest round of store closures.
Administrators Deloitte said it was in talks with a “small number” of potential buyers, but no firm bids for the whole business had been received.
Comet has struggled to cope with the drop in consumer spending in the UK since 2008.
