AN American tourist who had failed to return from a walk at Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges has been found safe and well.
Earlier reports said the man, 70, left on his bushwalk about 10am but when he had not returned by 6pm, his wife alerted authorities.
SES volunteers mounted an emergency search for the man.
