Libya: Benghazi Security Chief Assassinated

Libyan gunmen killed Benghazi’s security chief Wednesday (November 21st) morning outside his house in the city’s Sabri district, Libya Herald reported.

Colonel Faraj Mohammed Idris Drissi took charge of the Benghazi security directorate shortly after the deadly US consulate attack on September 11th, AFP reported. He occupied several leading posts during the Moamer Kadhafi regime before joining the revolutionaries.

Drissi was the 18th senior officer to be assassinated in Benghazi this year.
