BEIRUT: Police arrested three people for looting and cases of theft in Mount Lebanon, the Internal Security Forces (ISF) said Friday.
“After several armed thefts and looting by unidentified individuals with a women who was used to lure the victim to deserted areas in Mount Lebanon and as a result of monitoring and follow ups, a police unit in Baabda was able to arrest [three people],” a statement by the ISF said.
The three were identified by their initials. Their ages are 23, 29, and 43.
The statement added that the three confessed to committing over 10 robberies and thefts using a Nissan Sunny and a four-wheel drive vehicle.
The vehicles, along with a pistol, two clips, unused gun cartridges and four stolen cell phones were confiscated from the group.
One of the three, according to the ISF, has nine warrants against him as well as other judicial sentences for various crimes.
The police asked people who were victims of similar crimes to report to the Baabda Police Station or contact the ISF directly by dialing 05-922173 or 05-921115.
